Your first office visit to a Chiropractor includes a history/paperwork followed by an exam, questions/answers an overview of the treatment benefits for you, your family, friends, and neighbors. Bring any previous imaging, reports from other medical providers. Then specific spinal manipulation to areas of involvement, recommendations for exercises, home therapy, questions/answers, then followed by rescheduling and payment options.

Schedule regular adjustments to align your spine for both you and your family including children and adults.

Be well rested having a good nights sleep; using a firm pillow top mattress, firm enough to support your spine, and a comfortable pillow. If you lie on your back, place a pillow under your knees, and a rolled-up towel under your neck. If you lie on your side, keep your knees bent with a pillow between them. Don’t sleep on your stomach.

Ergonomics at home and work are very important. A comfortable straight back chair, neutral, supported posture (especially low back) feet flat on the floor or a footrest, knees at 90*, level with hips. Shoulders relaxed, monitor at eye level an arm’s length away. Avoid slouching or leaning forward, support your low back with a rolled-up towel or small pillow. Keep elbows close to your body bent at 90*. Neutral wrist position typing with hands at or slightly below elbow level. The top of the screen should be at or slightly below eye level with a 10 to 20* tilt.

Standing with your feet shoulder-width apart, keep your spine straight with your ears, shoulders, and hips lined up. If standing for a prolonged period of time, put one foot on a footrest. Wear comfortable footgear.

Preventing injuries in children that are using backpack. For example: 12 pounds in your child’s backpack with 10 lifts per day 120 pounds per day at 180 school days per year, is 21,600 pounds lifted in one school year…That’s nearly 11 tons of weight or 6 mid-size automobiles, in one school year. If you see any signs of posture imbalance or if your child has been complaining of neck, shoulder or back pain, call your chiropractor.
